I took an overnight bus to Arequipa for an extended weekend to visit Colca Canyon and the Cruz de Condor ( a viewpoint to watch the Condors in the Canyon). ... The journey from Cusco to Arequipa is 10 hours and we arrived in Arequipa at 5. ... Arequipa is Peru's second largest city and is known as the Ciudad Blanca (White City) because the buildings are made from "Sillar" the local off white volcanic rock. ...
