Now I will talk about the wonderful city/island of Hong Kong but also a very wet city. ... Our plane for Hong Kong was scheduled to leave at 3:00 PM. ... We landed in Hong Kong around 7:00 and had to take a high speed train to downtown Hong Kong and from there we tried to get a taxi but since it was raining that was hard to find and was going to be a long wait. ... AMERICAN AIRLINES Our experience with American Airlines ground staff ranged from poor to good depending on which staff was helping us. We were able to sleep on and of throughout the flights to Hong Kong but since the seats were not the most comfortable, I did not sleep for more than 2 hours at a stretch. ... JAPAN AIRLINES From Narita to Hong Kong, we flew Japan Airlines. ... DISNEYLAND HONG KONG Who would guess the All-American attraction is here on the opposite side of the world? Going to resort worlds like this is not our usual routine, but it was just too handy and the price not bad, so we decided to try it once (and Simon really, really wanted to go). ... May 27, 2010 - Hong Kong Has UK Plug Sockets
We awoke early the next morning to hear a Chinese woman singing her heart out down from us in one of the compartments - Chazza and I were not impressed! But the entire group had actually slept really well, we're definitely used to the night trains now, and probably the squatters toilets too. Hong Kong was very hot and humid, a lot hotter than Yangshuo and we were very grateful to reach the air conditioned hotel reception. ... This time I was sharing with Jen, the room was wonderful with a good view and there was a hairdryer in the bathroom! WALK ABOUT DAY Sunday. After that we explored Hong Kong park for which the highlights were a free bird avery - very cool - and a free museum about tea. ... Here in Hong Kong the markets are filled with many things made of jade, lots of small teapot sets, and then the usual jewelry, clothes, bags, electronics. ... I landed in Hong Kong and I got the bus from the airport, it was a great trip, cheap, clean, fast and with amazing views of the islands and the monster buildings that house the masses of people. ... Just! And a teeny bathroom like an ensuite but in mini! So doing it Hong Kong style - max population for the night! I dumped my bag and got on a ferry to go to see the giant Buddha. ...
