Jun 13, 2010 - Arriving Melbourne

Well not sure this will work as my connection shit but here goes anyway! Not the best start due to monumnetal drunkness and about 2 hours sleep! Had a great meal and night but wihtouth Sara waking me at 5am I swear I'd just have gone back to sleep and missed my flight! Slept all the way from edinburgh to Heathrow then had to have a couple of drinks there as I was in danger of lying down and going to sleep! First flight to Hong Kong was VERY long about 14 hours. The toilet knew when I'd stood up and flushed itslef! Cool ha? Flight from Hong Kong to Melbourne was cool as the couple who had been next to me left so I had 3 seats all to myslef - stretched out and slept while people who'd paid for extra leg room gave me dirty looks :) Got to Melbourne 8PM local time and jumped into a taxi with an indian David Bekham look alike complete with MASSIVE diamond earings! He chatted all the way here then as he knew I hadn't been here before charged me 70 bucks for the 20 miunte ride? I'm not sure what it should cost but I was far too tired to complain. ... Caitlin arrives on Wednesday then we're off on the Ocen Road tour which includes a visit to Bells Beach - yes the one from Point Break indeed!!!!!! Not sure if Irene will get in touch tomoro but I'm planning a good night sleep then getting up, buying a power adaptor which I forget every time, finding a bakers, buying coissants etc then a walk round Melbourne and I'm eveb thinking about the viewing platform of the tallest building in Melbourne in the interests of not being scared of everything! melbourne also has free circle line trams so I thought I'd sit on one to familiarise myself. ...

Finalised our shopping in Beunos Aires today & we walked for blocks & blocks-there are lots of shops in this city & I think we have at least gone passed all of them,even if not actually into them.We think this place has more shops than Melbourne! We are learing to cross roads like locals,no traffic,you cross,don't worry about the traffic lights! Tomorrow we head off early to Iguazu Falls,on the Brazilian side. ...
