| (I just typed in lots here, but unless I pressed a wrong button, I think "someone" didn't like what I wrote, and they've just gone and deleted it) No joke! Let's see - went to get a view from north of the Bund, ended up in a section that people aren't allowed so I couldn't get a view of the water, there was an embassy with lots of cordons, got a view from the bridge but cloudy and hazy today so not great. Lots of construction all about so I took a photo of one of the photoboards of what it will look like at the end of March next year. Hopefully, that gets through this time :-) Walked down to the start of Nanjing Road where Adelene and I had been the other day, and sought out my favourite restaurant, Da Niang Dumplings. I ordered three lots (no English menu, but with a bit of finger pointing, my broken Chinese, and the girl's broken English) I paid a big 15 yuan (A$3) for a plate of 18 dumplings. Eyes too big for my belly today, and I could only stuff 15 of them down! Yum. I love dumplings. 2.25pm Driver to airport has arrived early, so must go. 5.00pm I'm all checked in at the airport - my bags were perfect - my suitcase weighed exactly 15kg and my smaller bag 5.5kg, so even together they were well under the 23kg. I was a bit worried when I was checking in as everyone was being turfed away from the check-in counters and all madly pulling things out of their bags, so it looked like the Chinese Qantas staff were doing a thorough job today, so I was pleased that I didn't have to do that. The internet cafe here is remarkably one of the cheapest I've been at at any airport - 10 yuan an hour (A$2). My plane boards in about an hour, so I've just got a bit more time to go back and re-type that deleted section (I'll cut out some obvious keywords this time around!) |
