SUNDAY, AUGUST 13, 2006. JINGHONG, CHINA. Spent yesterday exploring this region called Xixhuangbanna, known for its many minorities, with Henry, a Chinese student I met on the sleeper from Kunming. Most of the places we visited were overpriced and catered to Chinese group tourism. I've decided to head into Laos tomorrow via Mengla.
